Following a recent small rise in the number of reports regarding VBA not working in Inventor 2014, here’s a quick step-by-step fix for the problem:
- Close Inventor
- Insert (or locate) your installation media
- Navigate to …3rdPartyx64VBA
(naturally this would be …3rdPartyx86VBA if you are still running a 32bit operating system)
- Right-click and install Vba7.msi
- Repeat step 4 above on Vba71033.msi for the English Language pack
Restart Inventor and VBA should be available again.
There are a number of causes for VBA failing: Installing MS Office365 is known to remove VBA from your machine altogether, having some antivirus applications running during installation, or not installing as local machine administrator. Regardless of the cause however, the five-step fix above takes about a minute.
